Elections (in class and nationally speaking)

The boys got stickers yesterday because we learned about elections, the President, etc.

We held a class election for National President. It's never too early to learn about the democratic process. We did however skip over the confusing computer vote system and decided to do a voice vote. Obama was elected 5 to 1.

We held a class election for CLASS representatives. I am pleased to announce that the following were voted into office:

Sunny: Class President
Darius: Class Vice President
Grant: Class Secretary
Patrick: Class Treasurer
David: Class Chief Council

While these positions don't mean a great deal technically, it was enjoyable for them to create their campaign paragraphs (they are on our bulletin board outside our classroom and you'll be able to see them when you come in for conferences!). The boys were the only ones voting for these positions.

Also, wanted to let you know:
1. Report cards come home NEXT Thursday (the 13th) along with IEP updates. The marking period officially ended yesterday.
2. We are going on a FIELD TRIP NEXT Thursday (the 13th). Bowling and Tony's.
3. Great fantastic news that I shared with administration yesterday: The boys were able to come into school and tell me about their weekends. In addition to telling me about trick or treating, they were able to tell me about other costumes that they saw, favorite candy, etc. It was really exciting for friends who usually tell me that they did nothing or stare at me like I've lost my mind (make no comments!)

Don't forget to go out and vote today!
:-)
(wear your sticker to the following places for free food/drink if you do:
Starbucks (coffee), California Tortilla (taco, I think), and Ben N Jerry's (ice cream))

Speaking of conferences, did you check with Ms. Childers about our time? Thanks
